REGION 14 NEWSLETTER
My name is Dorothy McPhail and I am the IAWP Region 14 co ordinator. This is my first Region 14 IAWP newsletter and I hope that other region 14 members will contribute to future issues.
2013 IAWP Durban Conference
Eleven Region 14 representatives attended the 51st IAWP conference held in Durban. This was the first IAWP conference held in Africa and had a record attendance of over 1200 from 54 countries. South Africa put on a very memorable conference - both the training sessions as well as the social events. Below are some photos taken on the opening day of the conference.

Future Conferences
IAWP conferences are unique in that any law enforcement staff, both male and female, are eligible to attend and choose to attend training from a broad spectrum of topics. This year there were attendees from 54 countries so this is an excellent opportunity to network with law enforcement staff from around the world sharing knowledge and experience.

Winnipeg 2014
Next year’s conference is being held in Winnipeg in Canada and I encourage you all to consider attending. I appreciate that it may be difficult financially for Police services to fully fund staff to attend the conference however other options are for you to partially of fully fund your attendance yourself incorporating it into a vacation. If family and/or friends accompany people attending the conference activities are provided for these people or family and/or friends may wish to join you after the conference.

Cardiff 2015
In IAWP celebrates their centenary in Cardiff in Wales which I am sure will be a wonderful experience. The conferences are motivating and inspirational so be sure to take advantage of the great opportunity to attend future conferences.
